Who We Are

The idea for La Bastide started while the owner, Kelly, was traveling through the south of France. A bastide refers to a type of architecture found in that region and often translates into 'little castles'. These 'little castles' combine both attributes of an elegant, yet simplistic lifestyle. Kelly was so taken with the provincial lifestyle and the people that she wanted to bring that feeling back to her home state of Virginia .

We have been open almost 4 years, and so many wonderful things have happened. We broke through the wall, and doubled our space in order to offer our customers, YOU, more fabulous products. We're thrilled that we now carry bedding from Sferra and we offer many more infant/baby gifts.

2006 has been an exhilarating year in both business and life for Kelly. She was married on May 27th to Corley, and in attendance were her employees/friends of past and present. Keri now has two beautiful babies, and Heather and Lindsay are living fabulous lives in the Big Apple! Kelley gave birth to twins Genevieve and Jacques while Adrianne waits for the arrival of her twins sometime in late April or early May. Something must be in the water here at La Bastide? While we miss Heather, Keri, Lindsay, Kelley, and Adrianne we are happy that Alexis and Dana are here to offer you our signature superior customer service.
